At around 8:30 pm I went to grab my uber eats when I noticed someone abandoned a pair of baby turtles just outside my door … I’m serious.
Truth be told I had been considering adopting a pet as I thought it would be good for me to have an emotional support animal … but if I’m being honest a turtle wasn’t the first thing to come to mind.
So now it’s 11 pm and I have researched far and wide surrounding what food to provide, what tank to get, etc. I also don’t know whether or not I should name them because for all I know someone could claim them tomorrow. But for now, I must say I’m enjoying their company.
To think mere hours ago all I was thinking about was what I was going to be eating for dinner. Turtle 1 and turtle 2 are actually my first overnight guests since I moved in at the beginning of October. Living alone can get lonely and even if it’s just for tonight, it’s been nice having something to look after and care for. I’ve been feeling a mix of emotions the last few months and it’s been tough mentally, but I feel like tonight was a sign that there are surprises behind every door and that there’s so much more life coming my way.
Here’s to more extraordinary happenings and living in the moment because each day is a gift.
